01 / THE PROBLEM
A project tree hides the big picture.
A file list shows one folder at a time. The shape of the whole project — where the weight sits, which branches grow deep, what depends on what — stays invisible until you have opened everything.
02 / THE IDEA
Make structure something you can explore.
Draw the project as a tree that grows upward from its root. Zoom out to read the silhouette of the whole codebase, then move in and follow a single branch down to the file.
03 / THE BUILD
Rust systems. A Slint canvas.
Canopy is a Rust workspace split into focused crates — filesystem scanning, graph, layout, engine, camera, render and UI — with the interface designed around a Slint canvas.
WORKSPACE / FROM THE REPOSITORY
Eight crates, one direction: upward.
- canopy-fsDirectory and tree scanning, filesystem event model, tests.
- canopy-graphScaffolded.
- canopy-layoutScaffolded.
- canopy-engineScaffolded.
- canopy-cameraScaffolded.
- canopy-renderScaffolded.
- canopy-uiScaffolded.
- canopy-appScaffolded.
REPOSITORY STATUS
EARLY WORKSPACE
The public repository holds the Rust workspace. The canopy-fs crate (directory and tree scanning, filesystem event model, with tests) is the first part in place; the other crates are scaffolded and the Slint interface is still to come.
